BP - Acquisitions by CSCO and NT do provide a reference point for valuation of other networks in this market. No argument about that.

As to << What happens when the whole, crazy, mania over tech stocks, and in particular optical stocks, ends? >>, I don't see that in the near future; within 2-3 years. Reason is that there is no bounds for this market; I mean that investors see higher and higher demand for internet infrastructure. If one day demand stabilized, no one would pay such high multiple for networkers.

I didn't have experience in 70's. In the past a few year since DOW broke 7000 mark, experienced Pro have been telling young investors that market is crazy. I could not judge which of the followings is right.
1. Those who don't accept high valuation of NASDAQ are out-dated. They will be gone anyway.
2. Extremely high valuation of NASDAQ is short-lived.

Back to the topic of holding MRVC, I am a loyal shareholder since May 1999. I lost 6 digits in paper value in the past weeks. I am bullish on MRVC at the moment, partially because of reference to other highly valued optical networkers, until NASDAQ tells me that I was wrong... That should not happen.

Have a good Sunday.

BP- I remember.

But good companies rode it out, and lived on to provide fantastic gains.

I may go back and skim over "The Gorilla Game" again, because I'm convinced that Optics is a disruptive trend. Now we are deep in to "the Tornado", where you just buy everything in the sector.

The next stage is to determine who is winning, and start to buy them. I would guess that would be CSCO-- I backed LU, but can't figure out their punishment.

BP - I reviewed your post back on March 25 after market close today. With DOW going up and SP 500 staying calm, NASDAQ alone won't lead to a bear market. It won't be another 70's ahead of us. Internet is different, powered by optical networking.

Looking back it was a good selling point at 130s, the 1st stop of down-trend of MRVC. I believe MRVC is now at 2nd stop. We are just 20% richer compared to 12-31-99, if anyone has been holding since then.

Psychology of majority of posters on this board is optimistic , whereas some on Yahoo's msg board have shown more fear than greed. Hard to say at the moment.
