Hi, all:
Version 1.10 has only a few changes: I added "thread bloat" and "IPR," I once again eliminated the last extra question mark, and I listed the message numbers of the completed Project Hunt reports. I did not add the returns of the G and K, or W and W, portfolio for 1999 as I don't know the W/W return and the G/K return would need a paragraph to explain.

RE: FAQ

Fred,

Once again, an excellent update to the FAQ. I just wanted to point out although you listed the following:

ITWO Bruce Brown, +16070 by James G

I have not yet presented my Project Hunt report on i2 (ITWO) as it is on my hard drive about 90% completed. The delay was extended due to the announcement on March 13 of the merger between i2 and Aspect Development which meant I had to also present Aspect in the context of the Project Hunt gorilla game format.

I'm basically waiting for a couple of responses from both companies on a few major questions about revenue streams from the transaction based system of the trading exchange format. I already know the traditional sources listed for revenues from both companies: license, maintenance and service. Whether they break it out for me and say that the transactions will be considered part of the license agreements or if it will be an individual contract that varies between agreements - I'm hoping to have at least some light shed on the subject because I feel it is important to know within the context of presenting my report to you. However, considering that companies like Commerce One, Ariba, Oracle and i2 have not really directly answered these questions when approached by the financial media without using the word 'variable', I'm not too hopeful that I will get the 'gold' in the answer(s) I receive. Part of this is due to the early nature of the game unfolding in the business to business space. The trading exchanges are just getting established and the worry about how revenues will be derived is 'to follow'. Hence, I continue to feel it is responsible to focus on the picks and tools of the B2B space and not get overly excited about individual industries announcing they are going to 'esatablish' a trading exchange and maybe even 'spin' that business off in the future.

That being the case, I may have to succumb to submitting all revenues under the traditional three areas in the software industry:

license
maintenance
service

Regardless, my report is ready to go outside of the above. As I'm not too confident I will have the questions answered, I may have to simply do as the rest of the investment community and be willing to wait to see how it all unfolds going forward.

As Qualcomm has structured their fees in variable amounts with the value chain and we all seem to be living with that, I assume the same will hold forth in the B2B transaction space as well.
