You guys are much more timid than I am...not that you're wrong, but a handwritten note? Com'on, that's ancient! I much prefer a right to the top approach. In fact, that's how I got my very first sales job...I wrote to the owner...told him want I could do, what I wanted, and asked if he have a vacancy on any of his magazines that matched? Out of five such letters to five publishing companies I got five eventual offers.

I'll bet money that if an introductory letter (email)included a link to our two portfolios, you'd get an immediate and positive repsonse....from the guy with the best answers. That would get him hooked into the thread fro starters, and guaranteed, he'd not forget who you were.

The odds are that a CEO's emails are screened, summarized, organized and passed on to the CEO in some order of decending importance.

Using this tactic, you may or may not get a response. depends on the personality and philosophy of the CEO.
