Off Thread: Drew, if Ericsson hasn't changed sides why to they now say, "cdma2000 and 3G are synonymous,"
on their web site ericsson.com
They weren't singing that tune earlier. Nokia still makes no mention of cdma2000 on their site. Why is Ericsson promoting cdma2000 1X and cdma2000 3X as 3G uprades in addition to DS-41 if they are still on the other side of the war? If NIH syndrome is so important why is their first CDMA handset being made, as they put it, with "QUALCOMM market proven chipset and software" instead of their own or those of their Nordic brother Nokia? And the specs for their planned cdma2000 subscriber terminal sound like they plan to use the MSM3300. They are no longer at war with Qualcomm, cdmaOne and cdma2000. They work with Qualcomm and want to sell as much cdmaOne and cdma2000 infrastucture and as many of their cdmaOne terminals as possible. Of course they are not going to abandon their lucrative GSM market in their own back yard, nor will they stop promoting GPRS and EDGE for the GSM and TDMA market. But they are no longer sliming cdmaOne or cdma2000. They left Nokia standing alone.
