Scumbria...re:It is interesting how the Intel thread has become little more than nostalgia. They have almost nothing to talk about anymore (besides AMD of course.) ;^)))

Scumbria

Hadn't checked that thread out for awhile, but you're right. Now it appears they are looking over their shoulders (and for that matter at the backside of AMD).
As time goes on I get more amazed how everything has changed.

Scumbria, I still have a lot of money left over from previous trades on AMD options. So what are you looking at in the very short term? I remember you said something about trying to pick your April 60's back up for 3 1/4. Is that still what you're aiming for?

Scumbria, <It is interesting how the Intel thread has become little more than nostalgia.>

Nostalgia of what? The days when the price of INTC was hovering around 76? Yep, I sure miss those days when I could pick up INTC shares for real cheap (and AMD shares, too).

Hi Scumbria-
I have been lurking/contributing to both threads now for about 3 years. I don't really think that the attitudes on the Intel thread have changed much. The attitudes on AMD thread certainly have and understandably. While there has been little change in Intel relatively (steadily increasing grosses, nets and share prices), the changes in AMD have been explosive in the last 9 months.

When I first started posting on the AMD thread, (pre-Athlon) I had it pointed out to me that AMD was not about profits, but about superior engineering. AMDroids openly scoffed at Intellabees for placing a high premium on profits and share prices in making investment decisions. NOW, there are at least as many posts about share prices and profits here as there are on the Intel thread. Again, understandable.

It is only to be expected that there would be a certain exuberance on a thread experiencing real profits and share appreciation for the first time in 15 years. I wouldn't expect that same exuberance on a thread that has enjoyed and continues to enjoy strong performance over that same period of time.

Don't read too much into it.

Regards,

Frank
