does stock income get entered on sch d?
and expenses on sch C?

SCH C ... would be a net net loss every year?
no reported income on it?

MSFT update: - The government seems to be playing hardball and press reports indicate that the govt is not impressed with MSFT's offer. This may be posturing, or may be fact. MSFT near term stock movement is likely to be volatile, with sharp swings down on Monday. The govt has the judge's indicated ruling on their side. I am not a big fan of MSFT, but believe they are one of America's great companies, and the government is on a mis-construed vendetta. This is not Al Capone!. One of the ironies, imo, if MSFT was actually broken up into smaller companies, the sum of the companies would likely be worth 1.5 to 2x the present value of MSFT alone. My biggest fear, as a stockholder, is that the govt will attempt to impose business restrictions that will severely hamper their ability to do business. Windows works fine for me, (I still use WIN95), WORD and EXCEL are my word processing program and spreadsheet, I can send files to lots of people who have the same system. Publisher is great. Tis a real shame what is going on. larry
