Top, you're right: the more that give up and drop out of the game, the better those remaining will fare. But I still feel the urge to point out the facts. It was an IPO market much like the current one that gave us a little IPO called ICGE that opened its first day at 14, a scant 2 points above the opening price. I'm sure the game was being declared "over" back then, too... :-)
