On the issue of the English woman, I am going to sound a bit like X here: Since I don't know enough and can't know enough of her particular life, I don't feel that I can judge. My first thought at the time, though, was that if I found it difficult to be in my teens with a father in his 60s, her child was in for some rough going under the best of circumstances! Actually, I've daydreamed a utopia where people could start a family in their 40s (when they have learned more patience and are likely to be very grateful) and then either freeze or move back in time to be able to cope with the various stages of their children's lives.
