From every perspective, Meade looks like a great short right now. However, this is a real company, with a real product, that happens to be overpriced by 2x and has what appears to be a small deal with what might be the Gilder mo play of the year -- terabeam -- when it IPOs. Therefore, with the craziness of this market, I am keeping my small long position with a tight stop. Chances are I will get stopped out, but if not this is a possible short squeeze opportunity. Much crazier things have happened.

G'day all - after discounting the hypes from both sides [of Terabeam,] MEAD is still a bargain at 0.5 PEG.

biz.yahoo.com

Granted that someone[s] did revise the growth rate from 78% to 87%. However, I am not sure if it was because of the Terabeam story or because the new coverage from Tucker Anthony, who has initiated MEAD as a strong buy on Mar 6, 2000 [before the Terabeam story broke.]

Agreeing with RocketMan, MEAD will attract a lot of shorties, but considering my small position and relative low price @37, and since I am a long term investor with little margin concern, I will hold this a while and see if the bulls or the bears are gonna to win this one.

good luck to everyone, long or short... firework ahead :)

best, Bosco

Terabeam's product IS NOT for the masses or the general product. It's for businesses located in high rises downtown. one business pays $150 for a dish. $150!!!! mead makes A PIECE of the dish. even if you gave mead the whole $150 They still wouldn't pass a worth of 30 bucks a share imo.

MEAD is good investment without TeraBeam deal. TB will need more powerful telescopes at the hub. Please include the price of those telescopes in your calculations.
