"Fit in a couple of stops"? Thomas, you wear a tasting glass in a holster! <g> --- You're talking about some of my favorite stomping grounds though (every square foot of Humboldt and Trinity cos). If you go up that way again, particularly coming south, a nice half-full day side trip is to detour from Ferndale out on a road locally called the Wildcat to the Lost Coast and then inland through Petrolia and the Eel River Valley, Honeydew and finally through the Rockefeller Forest spitting out on 101 about mid-way through Ave of the Giants. VERY nice trip. --- There are also some nice loops up into Trinity (Hoopa tribal land) but it can be dangerous if you're not familiar with the 'culture' in places. --- I've never been many places outside California, but I figure I've been within 20-30 miles of every geography within California. From Parker Dam on Lake Havasu to the lava tubes in Modoc. From Jed Smith to Tijuana. From... (well, you get the idea) <g> -JCJ
