They will settle. The stock will do nothing unless there is news one way or the other. I see the talks going past Tuesday, I see the stock shooting higher once they do settle, unless the settlement is incredibly bad. Msft will not be able to bundle software with windows such as they did with explorer, or be able to offer favorable pricing, they also will have to have whatever restriction that they settle on applied the current operating software, and any future operating software. MSFT will have to pay a massive fine to past Netscape shareholders, the states, and some other companies we haven't even thought about. If MSFT doesn't pay a fine the states would never agree to the settlement. MSFT will never agree to a settlement unless it is cleared of all future court cases that might come about their admission of wrong doing. The last one, admission, will be one tough pill to swallow, but they will have to do it. Finally, IBM had restriction applied to it long ago, eventually those restrictions were out dated, the same will happen to MSFT.
