I think we need to put some things in perspective.

AMD demoed a chip that runs only 100 MHz above what they currently are SHIPPING.

Intel demoed a chip that runs at 1500 Mhz more than they are shipping. Willamette...ain't shipping.

I'd say that the AMD demo was a bit more conservative.

Jim

PS...will there be a Spitfire reference borad or will AMD completely rely on the Taiwan motherboard makers?, who by the way are finding more Chinese warships hanging around...

Re: "In case you haven't noticed, Intel has been announcing a lot of vapor recently. This has been in sharp contrast to AMD's very conservative discussion of their products"

You totally avoided the entire point. AMD showed a power meter on an Athlon and you said nothing. Intel showed a much faster power meter on a brand new A-0 stepping running on a Rev0 process and you claim Intel won't be able to meet that speed. You're a hypocrite. You know better and you intentionally misrepresent the facts. Here's what you said:

"That is incredibly slimy of them to try to create the impression of an air cooled 0.18u part running at 1.5 Ghz"

You were proven totally wrong as you have been many times.

Re: "Don't criticize me. Save it for Dell and Gateway who suffered a lot of financial loss as a result of Intel's nonsense"

They're not here lying.
