The simple fact is 3G will be rolled out in the next 2 years, in most countries minimum coverage and service parameters are part of the spectrum licensing agreement.

Finally....someone agrees with me. Noone on the Qualcomm thread thinks that W-CDMA has a chance of being ready, and Tero doesnt seem to see any real amounts of 3G until 2004-5. I just can't see all of these companies spending billions on licenses and then letting the spectrum sit there for a couple of years. Of course.....operators have been known to have done stupider things <g>.

Mika....any opinions on the UK spectrum auction? It looks like there are about 7 companies who are refusing to lose....a bad thing when there are only 5 licenses to go around. I still dont understand what MCI Worldcom is doing.
