The institutions that made the upgrades, put together, manage enough capital to be among the major share holders of those companies; maybe they are! CS for example owns the First Bank of Boston in the US! They don't provide brokerage services for the clients, they manage funds. Therefore their analysis are not for common mortals, but for their own fund mangers, world-wide! They are very cautious, unlike some US Fund managers, and have a reputation to protect. They are used to Nesle, GE, and Cat, so when they venture into high tech sector, they do it cautiously! That I know first hand! Therefore I tend to take them seriously with more than a "cum grano salis!"

Last but not least, I sent my post several hours ago, and I just heard about a new up-grade on INTC on CNBC! WHo is copying who?
