Instead, they use their inflated stock to buy research (other companies). BTW, for the 7th year in a row, IBM was granted the most patents. Did you guys read that in 1999 AMD actually filed more patents than INTC? How does an $8 billion company out patent a $500 billion company? It seems to me this should never happen. chic
