Sometimes, it's painful to watch as a large succesful company gets swamped by a new technology that threatens their very existence. It occured to me that Fuji and Kodak business is largely dependent on 35mm Film, but while Fuji has been reasonably successful with their digital cameras, Kodak seems to have floundered.

Looking back, they must have tried to do something about it --- they've been making digital cameras for a while, just not good enough, it turned out.

Similar things have happened in the past (or are happening now) --- bronze and stone, iron and bronze, PCs and typewriters, CDs and LPs, DVD and VHS. But it's still sad to watch it happen to Kodak, one of the great pioneering companies that revolutionized amateur photography as an affordable hobby for people like me. I really hope they survive this.
