Teledyne Technologies (TDY) manufactures and provides broadband communications subsystems for wireless and satellite systems. Teledyne Electronic Technologies, a subsidiary arm of Teledyne, designs and manufactures electronic telecommunication products for many wireless applications, including analog and digital cellular telephones, local area networks and digital video. Teledyne Technologies is also a strong player within the MEMS front, and provides optical fiber packaging, a hot growth segment at this point as devices get increasingly complicated and smaller in size. We feel that with Teledyne strength in the high technologies especially in the optical and wireless front and significant new business initiatives and compelling valuation, this represents significant appreciation potential from current levels. We also feel think that Teledyne's new expansion strategy into the microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), traveling wave tubes, microwave filters, and fiber optic transmitters and receivers is likely to accelerate and produce long-term growth and visibility in the hottest markets.

Shares of TDY rose $2 1/16 to $15-11/16 Friday.
