I saw an interesting article a month or so ago (I should have posted it), about a Design Software Company ( that had the instruction information in a 3D game format. By playing the game you learned the software. It sounded like they had taken this concept to a new level. Supposedly people were trained much faster than normal and they had fun doing it. The game involved designing a space ship to get off of some planet and if you successfully built it you progressed on thru this game. The object was to compete with other people in the class to win the game, while you learned valuable design skills. I think this type of integration of 3D gaming into the work environment will become more popular in the future.

It will be interesting to see how this type of integration of fun software into work environments (that actually raises productivity), will progress. For example, imagine a gaming site, where companies plug some of their complicated real world design needs into a game format, that kids or gamers solve on their way to trying to win the game. The fun of playing the game could end up producing solutions for free because they are working it like a 3D game in competition with others. Small prize money could entice thousands of gamers to work on problems with the right mix of fun 3D software.

More interactive video learning/gaming on the internet means more storage and larger Data Centers.
