ICICI Bank puts Rs 13.5 cr ($3 mln) aside for NPAs

ICICI Bank has made additional provisions of Rs 13.5 crore or $3 million under the US generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) in respect of certain new accounts being identified as non-performing loans in the current quarter (January-March 2000). This decision had been taken at a board meeting of the bank on March 14, ICICI Bank said in a press release.

The bank is in the final lap of its roadshows to raise $175 million through the issue of American Depository Shares (ADS), with pricing set for Monday night (in the US) and trading slated to behin on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
