then AMD is not a monkey but a prince (or will slide into being one).

IF! they can execute! They have not impressed me so far, but they were up against one hell of a competitor.

( I am glad to see, that, if you must waste your time in Vegas, at least you are in the company of someone who is brilliant enough to agree with me!)

Ok, back from Vegas. Realized that since I've discovered options, craps no longer excites me (although I still, um, left some money on the table).

Ok, that's the last straw....this investing thing has taken time away from work (well, it did before), friends and family, but if it interfere's with gambling it has to go! ;-)....

Slacker....who is going to Vegas this weekend.

Tekboy, regarding AMD as an emerging Prince and your decision to by LEAPS, I think you just bought options on a stock that has peaked, BWDIK?

INTEL

>> If Intel is not a gorilla but a king (or will slide into being one), then AMD is not a monkey but a prince (or will slide into being one). If such a transformation does in fact happen, then AMD's valuation should increase significantly--and with a current market cap of only $7 billion, that leaves lots of room to run.

An interesting train of thought, but in my opinion, a flawed one. We use GG metrics to identify sector rulers, and Intel certainly rules its with an iron fist. Think back a few years when AMD was making inroads on the low end. Gorilla Intel allowed it, until they had enough capacity. Then they changed the rules of the game by introducing mmx, and took the banana from the Monkey. I believe what you and Dancelot are interpreting as King-like behavior is simply the mannerism of a great Silverback strolling leisurely down Main Street.
