Dorine,
Hi!! RE: Well all went well today. I was even able to do a little grocery shopping. Herb is getting stronger everyday and I was able to leave the house for 30 minutes.
Now about Michael DELL. What is this about him moving to New York?

That is so good to hear about Herb...so good.....Give him my continued regards...

As for Michael moving to NYC....Well, how many pieces of this puzzle do we have to have?

1. Did it start with a quote? ( I think it started with a quote)
2. Or was it an event that the world should have noticed as being somewhat highly unusual for rivals?
Below are some of the obvious puzzle pieces (events):

March 99....IBM grants DELL $17billion in technology over next three or four years...
Followed later by DELL/IBM service agreement in USA....IBM spokesperson tells us that global and more to follow in 2000...
Rumors abound in a few articles suggesting the possible marriage of the two...
Early Fall 99 .Jim Vanderslice moves from IBM to DELL replacing Mort Topfer ....Jim engineered the $17B technology deal that started this entire sequence in motion...
Now we have Michael buying a home of 4000 sq. ft. in Central Park...may just be something we'd have to add to the list..
Personally, I think the handwriting has been on the wall for a long time...Vanderslice coming over IMO was the dead giveaway....Michael's new "home"....Well, it sure sounds like it's more than a weekend retreat...
Question most frequently asked? IF IBM gives DELL the PC business what does IBM get in return? Dorine, I think you have the answer with the new home...
:o)

So one may say "I'm from Missouri"....I need to see physical proof of this...OK...I can buy that...And, I would quickly add that there is physical proof in the building that DELL has been doing over the course of this past year...I've mentioned a number of times that Round Rock alone has changed drastically from July shareholders to Thanksgiving...Changed so much that when someone sent me photos of RR at Thanksgiving I didn't recognize the same area from where we were in July....And need we mention Nashville? How many did DELL hire in the third quarter alone? The employment increase also leads one to wonder where they are going to use all these folks... Dorine, Michael moving may be explained by his wifes' interest in her new line of clothing...or perhaps his new investment corporation....I believe we are having something more than this...

Best, Kemble
