Carpe. . . betting on MSFT settlement is quite risky. . .MSFT has been desperately offering settlements, but the justice department does not seem willing to consider such. . .mostly because of the technical difficulty of enforcement of a settlement. . . If I were in Vegas, I'd be betting on the justice department going all the way against MSFT . . making an example of them, regardless of the economic outcome. . . however, I would not bet that the decision will be completed this week. . . my feeling is that it will come the middle of next week. . .which puts it squarely at the start of the earnings season.
