Here is why LDIG is moving today. . .they own DMX Music. .

DMX MUSIC Unveils Internet-Based, Global Multi-Media Delivery System

DMX Axis(TM) Incorporates IBM e-business Expertise

To Meet Dynamic Retail Needs

LOS ANGELES, March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- With a keen eye on the music and marketing needs of retailers today and in the future, DMX MUSIC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Digital, Inc., today unveiled DMX Axis(TM) -- a ground-breaking, digital audio and video delivery system. Combining the power of the Internet, the latest IBM software platforms and critical retailer input, DMX Axis will change the way retailers communicate with and attract customers.

"DMX Axis will not only deliver an incredible selection of music, but also critical business solutions to retailers who want and need to enhance their brand and customers' in-store experience to remain competitive in an increasingly competitive industry," says Lon Troxel, CEO and president of DMX MUSIC. "DMX Axis will deliver CD-quality audio along with video, messaging, and other multimedia solutions that will enable retailers to directly target their customers while running their business more effectively."

DMX Axis taps into the Internet's proven ability to deliver data efficiently and cost-effectively, allowing retailers of all sizes a tailored musical environment that is developed and fine-tuned by DMX MUSIC programming experts to the location's specific marketing and brand needs. With the world's largest music library as its foundation, the DMX Axis receiver arrives pre-loaded with hundreds of hours of music. The plug-and-play Axis receiver resides in the store location and new music titles and playlists are pushed to it automatically through a dial-up modem connection via the Internet from the Denver-based DMX MUSIC digital technology center.

Built on IBM's Digital Media Distributor (DMD) platform, DMX Axis offers customers around the world a new way to receive music programming that is hands-free, cost efficient and centrally managed. Through DMD's ability to centrally configure delivery schedules, Axis allows DMX MUSIC to specify the different types of music to be sent to each store location and play a variety of personalized music mixes at pre-designated times based on time-of-day, day-of-week, even to support seasonal and promotional events.

Already a leader in music programming and digital technology, DMX MUSIC is poised for growth as an e-business to provide customers with a complete audio and video marketing system. By utilizing the DMD platform, part of IBM's media asset management architecture, the DMX Axis receiver will provide digital messaging, video and dynamic point-of-sale and in-store advertising, in addition to digital music delivery. Using IBM to power DMX Axis helps to ensure the service's integrity, security and overall performance of audio and video delivery over the Internet.

"The combination of DMX Axis and IBM's DMD is a powerful e-business tool that automates the delivery process of pre-programmed digital content," says Steve Canepa, vice president of marketing, IBM Global Media and Entertainment Industry. "IBM's and DMX MUSIC's respective expertise resulted in a cutting-edge solution for DMX MUSIC customers."

DMX MUSIC's Collaborative Customer Program also played a critical role in the development of this innovative business marketing system. Key retailers and DMX MUSIC customers, including Nine West and The Container Store, have helped to define and refine product applications at every stage in the development of DMX Axis. As a direct result of this program, DMX Axis has been designed with unsurpassed benefits to meet the real-life business needs of retailers with real-life solutions. DMX Axis, for example, can deliver in-store advertising via plasma screens or other high definition delivery systems, alleviating the need for changing and overnighting videotapes, posters and banners.

"DMX Axis is going to revolutionize how retailers sell and promote their products," says Troxel. "Imagine a system that can actually automatically adjust your in-store advertising to cater to adult women shopping for handbags in the morning and teenagers looking for the latest jeans in the afternoon. You don't have to imagine anymore. DMX Axis is real today."

DMD consists of two components -- the Central Site, which manages the distribution of digital content, and the Remote Site, which receives the content and plays it back. For DMX MUSIC customers, the Remote Site is supported by the Axis receiver provided with the DMX MUSIC service.
