There may bit of a quarter-end effect going on here, though this is rarely as pronounced or relevant compared with what happens in the equity market (where name selection is emphasized much more in marketing/quarter-end reports). With the possible exception of December, quarter-end window dressing re: names is usually fairly minimal IMO. What matters most for institutional portfolio managers are their monthly relative performance figures (vs. the Lehman aggregate, for example). Also bear in mind that some big dealers (LEH, MWD, GS) have November fiscal year-ends.

We could indeed see a bounce-back next week, though I for one wouldn't bet on it.
