Thanks.
Where does a 10-20% hit put it relative to a Copperon 128 @ 66 Mhz bus?
I take it a 64k-64k Spitfire would scale even better than a Athlon?

Scumbria & All,

I just stopped by a Gateway Country store here in Austin today. They have a 1GHz system on display. The representative who helped me said that they don't stock any systems at the Gateway Country stores (I must be slow on the uptake I had never been to one and didn't realize that until then) but he said that if I ordered one Gateway could have it to me in ten days. He said that they had the system since right after the AMD release and he said that he had personally sold two and that he knew that most of the other sales reps had sold at least one. He estimated that they had collectively sold up to 20! How prevalent are Gateway Country stores? If each store has had similar sales success of 1GHz systems then I might be stating the obvious but I think that AMD has won any 1GHz race hands down. How much of an impact do you think such sales could add to Q1 earnings?

Regards,

Epinephrine
