Terayon's Broadband Systems Selected by Korea's Largest Cable Television
Operator

SEOUL, Korea, Mar 30, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Cable and Multimedia Communication Selects Terayon's Broadband
Data System for Major Seoul Deployment

Terayon Communication Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:TERN) a leader in broadband
networking, today announced that its broadband cable data systems have been
chosen by Cable and Multimedia Communication Limited (C&M), Korea's largest
cable television operator, for deployment in Seoul.

C&M, the cable TV and high-speed ISP subsidiary of the Korean corporation Chosun
International, launched their cable TV service in 1996 and as the company grew,
it recognized the potential for converged broadband services. Its challenge was
to leverage its investment to guarantee the highest quality and widest range of
broadband services for its customers.

"Our cable subscriber base has expanded rapidly and consumers are now much more
demanding," said Eun Ki Cho, managing director at Cable and Multimedia
Communications. "As a result, we have chosen Terayon -- a partner with robust
broadband systems that meet our high demands for flexibility, reliability and
quality. We are confident that Terayon will provide us with the innovative and
proven cable data system that we demand."

"It is an honor to have a partner in Korea such as C&M, an organization with the
vision to launch highly successful broadband services in this challenging
market," said Zaki Rakib, CEO of Terayon. "We are pleased with the momentum of
our system rollouts in Asia, as Terayon participates in the launch of broadband
services in Korea, China, Hong Kong and Japan."

C&M's broadband network already passes 2 million homes. The company is now
planning wide-scale deployment of Terayon's broadband data systems and is
targeting to launch up to 100,000 cable modems and associated headends by the
end of 2000.

C&M has expanded aggressively since its formation to become the largest multiple
system cable operator in Korea, operating 10 cable systems in Seoul alone. C&M's
current subscriber base exceeds 560,000 and the company delivers the highest per
capita consumption of cable services in Korea.

In addition to Korea, Terayon's cable modem systems have also been widely
deployed elsewhere in Asia, including Hong Kong, China and Japan. In Japan,
Terayon's customers include Jupiter Communications, the nation's largest cable
operator. Hong Kong's leading broadband service provider, i-CABLE, is also
deploying Terayon. In China, Shenzhen CATV, the largest cable operator in
Shenzhen, announced earlier this week that it has just selected Terayon's cable
modem system in order to offer its subscribers high-speed Internet access.

Terayon's cable modem system is an end-to-end system that provides high speed,
two-way communication over cable television ne
