There's a lesson here <g>

There sure is... I've lost thousands in the past year alone by trying to save a few dollars. The only time I now make limit orders is for a stock that I'm not positive about owning, and I let fate decide (or if I'm wanting to add to an already established position, so it doesn't hurt as much if I miss the ride up!)

I also do some put selling as a way to lower costs, and the same applies. I got cute selling puts on QCOM last fall, and rather than adding to my position and riding it way up, I got a little premium and watched it go...
However, I still will sell puts as a way of adding to an established position from time to time.
