Michael Jordan gets options @ $1; Mayor Daley hospitalized with chest pains.

1) Leeza, I wouldn't count on MJ making any endorsements for DVIN zaibatsu companies. CNN.com (actually based on a Chicago Sun-Times article) recently did a story on how Jordan announced plans to end all commercial sponsorships, I believe. then again, DVIN gave away so much equity to him, you'd think they're gonna get a return on investment from this.

2) Speaking of CNN.com, they have a good story up on Daley's hospitalization.
cnn.com

fortunately, doesn't look like a heart attack or anything. article has good background on his family and Chicago.
Edwin Fujinaka was perspicacious to point out early on the role of the Daley family and how it affects DVIN.

3) It's nice to be a computer engineering whiz but if you can slam dunk, that's good enough to reap a windfall from the DVIN IPO. Here's an excerpt from the latest mailing of The may report (themayreport.com), which has the inside scoop on all internet venture business news related to chicago:

5d. the Michael Jordan/Divine deal

Ron!
I'm surprised you haven't commented on the Michael Jordan/Divine deal
yet (Or maybe I missed it, but I read the reports pretty intently). Michael Jordan bought 1 million shares at $1 each and Divine loaned them 1.3
million to make the deal (must be nice!). Now, what I find funny about the
whole deal is that employees are being offered the same shares at $4 each.
Plus, this was done about 4 weeks prior to their likely pricing date at $6-8 bucks.
This information was in the Sun-Times about 3 weeks ago.
I am going through the motions at Divine so I'd like to remain anonymous.
However when I was told that I would have to pay $4 for stock options and Jordan got them for $1 and was loaned 1.3 million to do the deal I was a
little pissed. I guess Divine has a loan program for employee's as well, but I want that $1 option deal!

RE: Jordon
I wonder if the DVIN portfolio companies will be able to utilize the Jordan sponsorship? IMO, that's the way DVIN would benefit enormously-- As a (future) DVIN investor, I don't want to see commercials for DVIN....BUT I do think Jordon could help promote their individual portfolio companies like igive.com, pocketcard.com , beautyjungle.com , etc etc.
