More positive news: TVI Corporation Completes Order for Public Health Service GLENN DALE, Md., May 3, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- TVI Corporation announced Wednesday that it had completed delivery of orders totaling about $125,000 to an agency of the U. S. Public Health Service. The orders were for decontamination systems consisting of a shelter, water heater, and supporting accessories. The decontamination systems are intended for special units of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS). They are designed for decontamination of chemical and biological casualties and will support the increased response capability of the PHS to a terrorist attack with a chemical or biological weapon. The NDMS the nation's oldest and most advanced national medical emergency response force. Special teams are deployed for almost every major natural or man-made disaster to augment local emergency facilities. Allen Bender, president of TVI, noted the benefit of selection of the TVI equipment by the PHS agency. "These teams represent not only top professionals in their fields, but emergency specialists with extensive field experience in dealing with disasters" he said. "We will learn from them a great deal about requirements and characteristics of the most useful and effective disaster equipment." In other news, the company noted that it was still awaiting the report from its independent auditor. The company is not aware of any issues or problems with the audit, and expects the report in about three weeks. "We are anxious to receive and publish the report" Mr. Bender stated. "It will show a profitable fourth quarter with an increase in revenues. Mr. Bender noted that the internal financials indicated revenues in 1999 of about $2 million, and total income of over $300 thousand. Mr. Bender also reported that operations for the first quarter were profitable, with a significant increase in revenues. The company intends to schedule its annual meeting of shareholders about four weeks after receipt of the independent audit report.
