General Comment:

As mentioned this morning, AMD's trading pattern departed from the recent norm today...As a result, AMD was up on relatively modest volume (under 3 million). Further accentuating this departure from the norm was the fact that AMD was up $1.00 in the midst of weakness all around it. NY was down 90, Nasdaq down 125 and its competitor Intel down an astounding $7.00...Looks like AMD served notice today that it is almost finished its base building in the $54 to $56 zone and is mustering up momentum for an imminent and successful test of $60, possibly before the week is finished...Could be a very interesting open tomorrow...
