I remember going down there as a kid of about 12. Not to an opener but on a bus trip. Local businessmen would get tickets, load the bus with beer and whiskey and a few soft drinks and take their kids. The one I remember is an infielder from LA set the base stealing record. 2 trips a year, one to St. Louis and one to the Cubs.
