Good Afternoon Clappy,
"Buy to Close" is only for existing positions. I am still writing letters and making phone calls to move a step up with Fidelity. This may be God's way of protecting me from myself until Voltaire teaches me more. I can not imagine that Fidelity is trying to protect anyone but themselves.

Sounds like you have a portion of the "good life" already with your family.
It's just gonna get better, when you can spend more time with them.
We can all just sit on the porch and let Dealer teach us about life, Voltaire teach about Stress Reduction and have Voltaire's angels watch over us all.
Lucky

actually buy calls

You've already got your answer about what "buy to close" means so I'm sure it's no surprise that when you "actually buy calls" you "buy to open".
