Amateur TA time. I confess, I did not post bad news yesterday. I hoped the sell signals were fuzzy and wanted confirmation.

Friday, the 4 DMA moved below the 9 DMA giving an early sell signal. This was confirmed by stochastics dipping under 50 by .5, but not confirmed by MACD.

Monday Stochastics went positive so the 4 DMA was still giving an early sell signal but with no confirmation.

Today the early sell signal was confirmed by stochastics and MACD. Compaq's last up trend has ended. At this point, we might bounce off resistance and resume an up trend. The 9 DMA has not crossed the 18 DMA. So no down trend has been signaled at this point. So we shouldn't be attracting short positions.

TA observation for prospective. Buying on the March 1 early buy signal or March 2 with confirmmation would have produced about a 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 point trading profit.

Exiting with the large down volume on March 23 would have produced a 3+ points in profit. Large down volume is a common TA exit signal.

I'm sticking to both my long term and short term positions. I'm new at TA and I still think this is Compaq's year on FA basis.
