Ausdauer, I read that same article today at the library.

What surprised me was the dig on flash that it couldn't handle the writes over time. I thought SNDK guarantees against this problem.

How does FLSH (Disk on a Chip) get around the "fatigue" problem?

Didn't the article make some aggressive predictions about the size of the MRAM market surpassing SRAM market by 2002?

Ausdauer, now I know who put the 'M' in MRAM, but what is it? And, while I'm asking questions, would you explain the significance of the SD flash memory please? There seem to be software alternatives to making the hardware secure.

Is the idea that now the public are getting used to using downloading CF cards from the net to replay on MP3 players, the recording industry will be able to say:

"Sorry folks but from now on you'll be able to get samples, but if you want the real thing, you'll have to buy the (SD) cards pre-loaded. Thus making Flash cards more like vinyl and CDs, and less like cassettes."?

thanks
AJ
