Many years ago, I read quite a bit of Teilhard. It is worth considering, I will mull over a response and get back to you......

Actually, I am disinclined to include Teilhard, for the simple reason that an acceptance of purposeful evolution, which is not unique, would ordinarily lead to the speculations with which he is associated, in some form. If one reads Teilhard, the way in which technology fits into the equation is not as clear as Wolfe represents, and, as Wolfe himself points out, the tendency to exaggerate the transformational effects of technology, particularly in transportation and communications, predates Teilhard. In essence, Teilhard represents a not uncommon phenomenon, the banality of the avant- garde.........
