wierd...it also mentions UPnP, LONworks, JINI...all of which are obviously involved with Echelon.

the slide appears to be a little misleading. At the top of the slide is a the box containing words to the effect of "Universal Solution".(haven't looked at that in a while ...can't remember exact words)

Perhaps what they are suggesting is that Elon is a "one shoe fits all" solution, and that seperate interfaces/connections to the plethora of home networking data solutions is what is "not needed"

Perhaps if someone has heard the talk given at the Connections Conference, where this slide set was presented, that person could help clear this up.

It is inconceivable to me that Elon would not be involved with this. Nokia is a major sponsor of Bluetooth and Finland...well you know about Finland. Ericcson too is a Bluetooth participant and Echelon customer. I can't remember if it was in the slide set you referenced, but I have seen, somewhere on the Elon site, a photo of what Ericcson calls an e-box...I would assume this enables wireless connectivity and conforms to both Elon & Bluetooth stds.
