"Frankly I just don't understand some folks. If it was so easy to write another file management system that can do what MicroOS does, why hasn't anyone else done it???"

They have.

What do you think is in the other portable audio players (Rio, Creative, etc.)? What do you think is in all those digital cameras that are all the rage? You mean to tell me that my Nikon doesn't have a flash memory file management system? Coulda fooled me! Cause I've been clicking away all this time, putting pictures into my flash card, then I plug it into my PC, and HOT DAMN! there are the files! Then I erase them and SHAZAM! they are gone, just like I asked for!

If it's not a flash memory file management system, it must be magic!

The fact is that dozens if not hundreds of companies have developed flash memory file management systems. And they've been doing it for YEARS.

<<James Laboda told me the reason companies are not writing their own is because flash will only be around for 5 - 6 years>>

bob, who is James Laboda? Isn't he saying that in 5 - 6 years there won't be a need for MicroOS?
