Motorola, Netro sign OEM agreement
CHANDLER, Ariz, March 28 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT - news) and Netro Corp. (NasdaqNM:NTRO - news) said Tuesday they have signed an agreement under which Motorola will market and distribute Netro's AirStar broadband wireless access system to telecommunications service providers worldwide.

The original equipment manufacturer agreement puts in place another element of Motorola's end-to-end fixed wireless solution portfolio, aimed at providing network operators with broadband wireless access communications solutions, the companies said in a joint statement.

The addition of the Netro AirStar system immediately extends Motorola's offerings of broadband wireless access solutions to the 10, 26, and 39 GHz ranges, complementing its 28GHz US LMDS solution offered through SpectraPoint Wireless LLC, an affiliate jointly owned by Motorola and Cisco Systems, Inc.

The bands are the four most commonly licensed broadband wireless access frequency bands worldwide, according to the statement.
