Jim, OT Re MRVC Re <<Is MRVC a buy? Sure has corrected>> Yes, I think it is but there remains a significant downside risk of course. Once ETEK and JDSU merger goes through, MRVC will be the biggest supplier of passive and active fiber optic component. If you give their optical division the same evaluation as JDSU (no reason why it should not be) it would be worth more than the current market cap. The street will bet a chance to decide for itself within 3 months once the Optical Access division goes IPO. MRVC has become a similar model to CMGI with a focus on optical and internet backbone infrastructure. They will have 3 ipo's within the next 12 to 18 months, and 3 more the following 12 months. Yes 6 optical/internet telecom related IPO within the next 24 months!!! Here are only few of their divisions, Optical Access, by far the biggest and most valuable NBase-Xyplex - LAN, WAN and Remote Access This is the old school division. One of the hot product is their new Linux based router (the only one in the industry). Currently finishing beta Optical Access - Fiber Optic Components , by far the most valuable should hear about the IPO plans of this one within days! MRVC owns 100% Zuma - Layer 2-7 Switch Router Advertised as more powerful as the best SCRM can offer. It is currently in beta I believe MRVC owns 100% New Access - Optical Networking Good stuff here, DWDM. Big key investor including JNPR MRVC owns just under 50% Charlottes Web - Terabit Router Today's action in JNPR should tell you how big this one will be. Said to be very stable and successful at the 2 beta sites. I think MRVC owns 100% Red C- Subscriber management This division is very similar to RBAK. This division will provide initial revenues this quarter. You can check out the specs on their site, another potentially huge product. 100% owned my MRVC Hyperchannel - B to B telecommunication e-commerce and network security, already very strong foothold in Europe and investors include Goldman Sacks. Around 50% owned by MRVC There are at least 5 more companies/big projects that I have not mentioned here, getting tired :). Compare to valuation that the market is giving to JDSU, ETEK, JNPR, RBAK, SCMR... MRVC is substantially undervalued. We should see some of the value coming back as IPO's get on the map. Mani
