Mark, that's a mystery to me. I've been watching the action of both INPR and CORL, this is what I've found. Corel has a higher volatility than INPR, both before and after the merger announcement. The average trade size of Corel (dollar volume) is about 80% that of INPR (dollar volume). Essentially, people spend more per trade on INPR than on CORL. This says something about who is buying the stock. So, more individual investors are buying up Corel, than Inprise. My guess is that the jump in Corel yesterday was speculation that there would be a settlement or judgement in the MS case. I noticed today that Corel was down 9% while Inprise was down only 6%. Call it market efficiency...
