I agree with you totally, If Only... We should all be reminded which players are on our team and which are trying to trip us up.

Incidently, after posting about Quote.com being down before the bell yesterday and extending for about 30 minutes. . .it occurred to me that DLJ also had a notice that it was suspending pre-market trading yesterday. . . and had a report that Scottsdale was down for the first 40 minutes of the day.

Any other brokerages or quote services down yesterday morning?

I remember this time last year when nearly all brokerages and quote services went offline for 3 hours as the markets tanked hard costing investors billions and billions as they could not bail . . . I remember on that day being unable to place limit sells at 5am!! And unable to reach brokerages by phone for 2 hours prior to the opening bell. . . it was a dreadful day.

We don't ever want to get in a position where we are vulnerable to such illegal tactics by the brokerages. And that is why we have trimmed our portfolios from techs to value. . . the techs I am playing as of this week are position trades on earnings. . . something I said I wouldn't do. . . go figure. . . which is why I keep warning not to play with me on many such trades.

It is as though the market stumbled into some quicksand.
