Re: Reality is what the price ratio of INTC to AMD (currently 2.5 to 1) is at December 31, 2000...

I think it's more informative to look at the float adjusted number (corrected for number of shares outstanding). I think that Intel is worth between 3 and 10 times what AMD is worth due to its capital reserve, brand recognition, and diverse product line. Right now Intel is priced at 54 times AMD's price when corrected for number of shares outstanding.

If AMD is valued at a tenth of Intel the stock is worth $270, at a third it's worth $800. If AMD were to become the dominant supplier of CPUs (very unlikely near term - but possible if early use of copper proves to be a significant advantage) then AMD could be worth $2,700 per share.

I keep saying it: you should stop being so pessimistic about AMD's stock future stock price!

:-)

Regards,

Dan

SpryGuy - Re: "Reality is what the price ratio of INTC to AMD (currently 2.5 to 1) is at December 31, 2000...I'm guessing it will be well under 2 to 1 (maybe even at par or better!)! What do you think Paulie?"

Comment (1) - Since you OWN no AMD stock, the price ratio of AMD to Intel on 12/31/2000 is financially irrelevant to you.
