Agreed in part, at least on the need to act before the decision. As far as news releases and what reporters are saying. It's all about sales. Very little if anything they write should be trusted regarding the settlement proceedings.

Of course, in terms of playing the decision, many ways to do it, depending on what you think the outcome will be. I have come down on the side of a MSFT rally. Thus I elected not to hedge my MSFT stock with puts, or employ a straddle. I bought MSFT May $115 calls yesterday.

Once it happens, there is little guarantee that you will be able to take advantage of the compressed volatility...and you should be aware that a decision/deal of this magnitude is unlikely to come out during market hours."
