The way people get around the Rule 701 change is to get a shareholder to pay the PR firm with their stock. The shareholder is reimbursed at some future point for some "other" reason. Several months ago there was a similar discussion when PINC hired several "PR firms" using stock from a shareholder. Yes, turns out this is a legal maneuver and according to the PR firms I called quite legal.

But what about bks and JB144? They were paid in stock. Assuming they ever got it, which we don't know. And bks said she checked with the SEC to be sure it was all right...
