We have had this discussion before-- 10GE is not even thru the IEEE802.3ae working groups, of which Nortel has participants. It is fine to plan on "future" products that will incorporate the final standard implementation, and I am sure all participants of those groups will do so, from semi-houses, optical component houses, and router and switch manufacturers. The most certain demise of any product is assured if delivered before there is a agreed implementation. The debate is quite intense at present time. Careful lest the Versalar makes the same mistakes that some its predecessor products have made.
