The fact that there is now a claim on assets at 48 makes a run to that level a lock. It appears that the market feels that it might be putting a ceiling at 48. Is there any truth to this view? I'm certain the nay sayers will be putting the negative spins left and right. Just trying to sift through the sludge. Ron Dior

Nope. Bell & Co. are on their way out. Notice how Att is slowly implementing what I said they would 6 months to a year ago? If I know it, it is inevitable. I agree. Why wouldn't they be gone? Question is, who will replace them? I'll bet whomever it is has carried Armstrong's gold bag. This also confirms the rejection of "content" emphasis and a rebirth of the importance of wholesale. As bad as Hindery was, he was right about that. I have to admit it. I was a Hindrey basher. With regards to his stance on content......I was wrong. I bought the hype when XCIT was purchased. I won't do that again. That was a wake-up call for me and what I learned was that even the biggest deals can easily be ridiculous. I think that I remember that you were tarred-and-feathered for opposing the deal when it was announced. I could dig up the comments but I believe everyone here now knows that it was a very bad deal. So the tracking stock is pulled because if it is issued then ATHM is required to keep it for 3 years? Pull the tracking stock and you can make Excite into whatever makes sense instead of pursuing the portal business. I get it. So you see the gods can't just fire another god. They have to phase one of their own out discretely. Move them up the pantheon as it were. Jermo was the first to be ported up. Now, Bell. It's the polite way to hide the failure of gods. Promoted to Vice-Chairman of get the hell out of the way. Who's gonna lead the company? That's kind of a big deal. Maybe with T taking outright control today Armstrong runs ATHM. I'd like to see if he drives valuation or builds a company. Either way he needs T stock to begin moving or he loses his mandate to reshape the company. Bell doesn't seem to see he's on the chopping block. He was his unflappable, exuberant self today. In time both Bell and Jermo will leave the company but the company will continue to pay them almost at full salary. This is the privilege of the gods. That's why you pay the university to entitle you to become a god. Something like selling the priesthood. What's new. Burning Jeeps, flaming companies. Why did Snoopy keep flying the dog house when it was clear that the Red Barron was going to shoot him down. I don't know much about the university gods but selling landowners tickets to heaven was great while it lasted. Give the church money and we'll make sure God gives you the nod when the time comes.
