Dear Gerald, I believe DOJ is talking to MSFT in bad faith! Janet Reno is an snake, sleezy and and low profile, but lethal. Do you remeber how she made FBI look bad during the Davidian crisis!! It was her all along! DOJ are talking to MSFT only to make it look good once the judge has said enough is enough. Once the judge has handed down the verdict, I can imagine Ms. Reno will go on public TV and say " By god I tried to talk to MSFT until the end, it was the judge that said enough!" That way she will be absolved from the attacks and judge Jackson will get blamed. Think about it!
