If I want to short a stock, I usually just place the order at the ask, or 1/16 above the bid. If someone hits it, it's an uptick...

Knyyt,

Is CyberX or CyberTrader capable of being configured so that when you enter an order it can create the uptick automatically?

To answer your question, if you are using CyBerTrader 2.1, you can define a Hot Key Execution to automatically route your SHORT order 1/16th above the inside Bid. This would allow you to send an order to short a NASDAQ security while the stock is on a downtick and would auto-calculate the limit price. If using CyBerX 1.6 and sending an order to short a NASDAQ stock on a downtick, you would have to manually set the limit price at least 1/16th above the inside bid so that your order will be accepted. If you need any assistance in setting up the Hot Key Execution for CyBerTrader or if you have any questions, please let us know.

Sincerely,
