If Only...Ameritrade and E-Trade are in a vanity war trying to outdo one another for the sake of claiming the title as Internet Brokerage King. But they don't see the avalanche forming behind them. Hundreds of regional banks hungry for online discount brokerage services to supplement their income and keep their customers from transferring money out of their accounts to the brokerages. . . SVNX is already bringing such services to banks. . .and NDB is linking up with still more banks. . .both are bringing this about, despite the fancy advertising of the OLB leaders. Why NATS and IAAC were not bought up by larger brokerages, I don't know. . . perhaps due to the nearsightedness of the management of the large brokerage houses. . . they see themselves as indestructible. But the day my banks offer services to me. . . I will transfer out every penny from traditional brokerages and online brokerages. . . in favor of the long relationship and the ability to get accurate accounting. . .and face-to-face problem solving that a regional bank can afford. And so will countless other individual investors. . . tired of being jerked around and played. NATS has much going for it. . .but a good point was made here today regarding the volatility due to the tiny float. . . it is a risky stock to play on down days. . . regardless of whether the company is worthy or deserving of higher valuation. . .as we all tend to agree it is.
