... They consider all taxes confiscatory because they're blind to the benefits of government ... You sidestepped the main thrust of my post. Do you believe, as I asserted that liberals do, that the successful must have taken their money from others and must therefore have some of their gains taken to give back? Do you believe that "the rich" should pay disproportionally more in taxes than the poor? Do you believe that the rich should be taxed at an ever-increasing marginal rate because they can afford it and others need it? Do you believe in the philosophy "From each according to his means, to each according to his needs"? The only difference between liberal viewpoint and this last viewpoint is in degree. They both espouse that someone else's need for what you have overrides your right to own it.
